Gerey Johnson: On Stage, In the Studio, and Everywhere In Between

So, here’s what’s been going on with Gerey Johnson and C Sharp lately (because if you know Gerey, and Kent, you know they got stuff going on).

Yoshi’s – Oakland

First up, Yoshi’s. Yeah, that Yoshi’s — the legendary spot where you don’t get on the bill unless you actually know what you’re doing. Gerey tore it up there recently, (with Richard Elliot), proving (again) that his guitar chops are as ridiculous as ever. Audience? Blown away. Us? Not surprised.

Hollywood Casino – Joliet, IL

One of the next stops: Joliet. Hollywood Casino. Gerey wasn’t just playing — he was producing a whole show. Invited and hooked up with Devin B. Thompson, who lent his vocal prowess, not to mention family and fans. Translation: herding cats, making things run smoothly, AND still making the music sound killer. (Because apparently he’s good at multitasking, which is rude to the rest of us mere mortals.) And a special thanks to Darryl Hervy for the hook-up.

EPK in the Works

And because performing and producing aren’t enough, we spent a full day locked in on an audio/video shoot for our client (Dario Cohen’s) upcoming EPK. Long day, lots of coffee, zero complaints — it’s shaping up to be something special. This project’s in the hands of Director Jock Hedblade (seriously, check him out), who’s got the vision (and the patience) to pull this all together.
